Tourism Image and Heritage Rejuvenation along New Silk Road Development Belt

Zhang Qian, a Chinese ambassador of Han Dynasty created the Silk Road in 139 BC, which connect China and Central, West and South Asia, even Europe for more than two thousand years. In 2013, China President Xi Jinping proposed a new global development strategy, named the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21stCentury Maritime Silk Road (the "Belt and Road Plan”), covering both China, Persia, and many other Asian and European countries. Along the Silk Road, there are series of historical sites and world heritage attractions distributing in China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, and Turkey. To welcome and host tourists from China, images of both historical attractiveness, and board accessibility need more local development, international collaboration, and security enhancement. Iran’s tourism brand and role has a major role to play in this continental undertaking.
